After five long years, the UK's only (and therefore favourite) politics-themed fantasy football game returns!
Hello, and thanks very much for visiting the brand new website for Fantasy General Election!
After a successful first outing back in 2019, I'm so excited to be able to say that FGE is returning for a second time, running alongside the 2024 campaign - with a brand new and improved website!
The idea behind Fantasy General Election is extremely straightforward:
Just as in normal fantasy football you select a team of 11 Premier League players, in our game you play by picking a team of Westminster parliamentary candidates - in the tactical formation of your choosing.
However, rather than scoring points for goals and assists, in our game points are awarded based on how your candidates perform at the ballot box.
If your players win their seats convincingly, you will score maximum points. If your players are soundly thrashed, and suddenly find themselves down the job centre, you will end the game with nothing.
Once all the results have been counted up, the person with the most points will receive our star prize.
Brand new for 2024, we're delighted to announce that the player who tops the leaderboard will take home a limited edition, money-can't-buy Fantasy General Election mug.
The stakes really could not be higher.
What's the plan?
Currently, we're waiting for the official list of candidates for the general election to be published. At the time of writing, we're expecting that to be on Friday.
It'll then take us a day or two to get the candidates into the system, so we're looking forward to launching the full Fantasy Election 2024 experience on Wednesday 12th June.
Before then, you can still register to play, and choose your team name and badge; and we'll send you a helpful email reminder when the game is live.
